Our story
Who we are
Kolping International, founded in 1850 by Blessed Fr. Adolph Kolping, is a Catholic social movement present in over 60 countries with more than 400,000 members worldwide. Its mission is rooted in the principle: “Help them to help themselves.” KSZ, as part of this global family, contributes to international advocacy on social justice, decent work, and sustainable livelihoods.
Founded in 2001 in Kasama by Archbishop Spaita and Fr. Clavel Mulenga, KSZ was officially recognised by Kolping International in 2020. Membership has expanded from 25 founding members to 4,557 members across the Kasama, Mpika and Mansa dioceses.

Governance and oversight
How we are organised
KSZ governance follows the Organizational Policy and Procedures Manual (2026 Edition). The National Convention is the supreme authority, convened every four years. The National Board is the governing body, with Executive members providing strategic and operational oversight and Non-Executive members providing spiritual and ethical oversight. The Management Team is led by the Manager / National Coordinator, supported by Heads of Finance, Programs, HR, Information & Publicity, and Internal Audit. Quarterly operational and financial reports are produced, with annual external audits and quarterly internal audits.

Achievements
Results our members can measure

Animal Pass-On Program: over 1,300 members benefited since 2017, reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers through organic manure.

Crop Production: increased yields in maize, beans, soya and groundnuts, with emphasis on indigenous seeds.

Future Plans: expansion into fish farming and beekeeping.
